Paris, Paris, the love, the Fashion Week, the croissants, and a little coffee on a terrace.
Did I make you want to plan your trip there already? If yes, you are going to love this article where I will tell you how I planned my four-day trip to Paris last summer. If you are not yet convinced about your next city trip, maybe you will change your mind when you see how you can make the most of it!
Little anecdote: This trip was actually work for my boyfriend, so I did most of the activities by myself (but still enjoyed it fully, naturally!).
First day: riding and discovering the area.
The first day is always one of the best parts of your trip, right? That excitement you have about discovering a new place, a new hotel, different food...
That is, of course, the excitement I had when we were driving to Paris. We went by car (if you don't know yet, I live in Belgium, so it is about 4 hours for us to get there).
With the stops we made, we arrived in Paris around 3:00 PM. However, we reached the hotel around 4:00 PM because we were busy with my boyfriend's work.
For the hotel, we chose the Georgette, a cute little hotel 5 minutes' walk from the Centre Pompidou. When you came there, you could see the cutest flowers hanging around the terrace. Our room was really simple but had every comfort you could ask for. The decoration was stylish, with some mirrors to give it some chic. And the people were really friendly.

After checking in, my boyfriend had to work, so I decided to eat at the hotel. I enjoyed some pasta with truffle, and it was really good (of course, with a nice glass of wine).
Then, I chose to go see the fabulous Notre Dame de Paris. It is around 20 minutes walking from the Hotel Georgette. I loved Notre Dame. When I went there, I was perfectly on time for the beginning of the sunset, so I just stayed for about 10 minutes on the Pont Saint-Michel to enjoy it.

At Notre Dame, there were not that many people around 8:00-9:00 PM, so it was perfect. It was not open yet after the reconstruction, so I didn't see it inside. But I can surely say it is impressive to see and huge. It is really something we can be proud of in Europe, I think; it is our architecture.
After this little walk, I just went back to the hotel because I was actually tired from the trip we had earlier that day. It was about 30°C during the day in this period, and I was happy to find the air conditioning in our room.
Second day: making the most of it with my boyfriend, discovering the best places.
The second day, my boyfriend was off for a good part of the day, so we decided to enjoy it together, of course. After a perfect croissant for breakfast in our hotel, I showed my boyfriend the cathedral that he hadn't seen yet. We also went inside the Saint-Merry Church, which is really beautiful and on the way to Notre Dame.
The day before, I planned my lunch at Café Marly (Dynasty fans, I see you right there), a typical place around the Louvre, where you can either enjoy a nice and elegant decoration inside, or the view of the pyramids of the Louvre outside. Of course, I chose outside so I could play Fallon Carrington for a moment!

But before coming to the restaurant, we walked around the Pont Neuf and did a little "lèche-vitrines," seeing the special decorations of the Louis Vuitton store, for example, or inside the Samaritaine. Paris really has the most stylish stores! (15 to 20 minutes walking from the hotel)
We loved our lunch at Café Marly with fresh melon and ham and some homemade iced tea. It was hot and heavy weather that day, so we could tell we were not that hungry. We liked it anyway, but it's not the cheapest if you look at your budget. It is also located 20 minutes from Hôtel Georgette.
That day, we walked a lot (35 minutes from the hotel) and went to the Ralph Lauren flagship store, a really big store for the fans of the iconic brand. It has an elegant decoration like Paris can perfectly do, but also that touch of American style that we love to see for this brand. As a flagship store, they have every collection of Ralph Lauren (from the Polo label to the RRL label or the Purple label). We loved it and also had a coffee at the Ralph's Coffee.
It was then time for my boyfriend to work, so I went back a little to our hotel after having a drink.
I decided to visit the Grévin Museum (a type of Madame Tussauds museum).
It is the type of activity I do if I really don't know what to do, but I'm still curious. I did my tour in about 45 minutes; some of the statues are perfectly made, and some could be better (in my point of view). I don't think I would go back there a second time, but I think it can be nice to do with kids, for example. This one is around 25 to 30 minutes walking from the Centre Pompidou area.
For the evening, as I was tired from walking the whole day, I enjoyed some noodles at a beautiful little place 5 minutes away from the Georgette Hotel. They were delicious, and I paid around 11€ for a big plate and a drink.
After that, my boyfriend was back, so we enjoyed a good drink around the Centre Pompidou. This is a good area for young people; we saw a lot of people the same age as us just sitting at the cafés there, and we found it cool. We went to Paris Beaubourg, which has a beautiful terrace at night.
And that's how my first two days in Paris went: enjoying good food, warm weather, and a lot, lot of walking in the City of Lights.
This trip isn't over yet! In the next part, I will share my experiences, including the Eiffel Tower, shopping, and beautiful moments.
